Bounty Big Spills in New York

Bounty Big Spills in New York

What better way to demonstrate the superior absorbency of Bounty paper towels than with some big spills. And they are talking about some seriously big spills. On Seventh Avenue in New York, busy commuters are greeted by a six foot tall coffee cup knocked over and spilling onto the sidewalk – complete with steam and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. And in Los Angeles, weekend shoppers find a seven-foot long, 550 pound ice pop melting in the Third Street Promenade. Both these spills were accompanied by sampling and outdoor ads delivering the message, Bounty “Makes small work of BIG spills”.

Pancake Bottle

I love this. Such a cool way of using shousehold tuff instead of throwing it out. I actually have a massive 100% free bottle of ketchup that i got on special offer so either i better have ketchup on everything from now on or i might be ready to try this next pancake Tuesday!

If your quest for the perfectly-shaped, drip-free pancake has lead you down the dark halls of infomercial madness, take note: all it takes is the re-purposing of a condiment squeeze bottle.

This trick would have never worked with the ketchup bottles of yesteryear, no sir. Thankfully, the arms race in the condiments industry to bring you bigger, easier-to-use bottles has crafted the perfect pancake portion tool. Wash out one of those sizable condiment bottles, then refill it with freshly-mixed pancake batter. The huge bottle, coupled with the easy-squeezing goodness, is a great way to deliver pancake batter to a hot griddle with consistent sizing, pour rate, and no drips across the stove top and counters. If you have a similarly crafty culinary trick or two of your own, for breakfast or other meals, sound off in the comments below.

Cheers to http://lifehacker.com/5256023/repurpose-a-squeeze-bottle-for-perfect-pancakes for this one.

Flash Dance

May 7, 2009 by cloudstorm

It seems that flash mobs are the thing to do at the moment whether for fun or to promote a brand.

In the latest Improv Everywhere inspired guerrilla action, 100 women form a kind of flash dance action and perform Beyonce’s Single Ladies in the middle of Piccadilly Circus in London. The event was created for Trident and announces their private concert with the singer that you can win tickets to.

Thanks to http://www.onthegroundlookingup.com/ for this one.

Cheers Sam.

This Sky Dive school in Switzerland have got the edge on competitors by placing floor graphics in lifts around the country. They are the biggest school but still do not have the largest marketing budget. This is a very inexpensive communication that received extensive TV and Press coverage on top of the obvious experiential element.

It also allows me to gve a quick plug to the Imagine Sky Dive to raise money for Special Olympics Ireland. We are looking to raise €10,000. Feel free to give us a shout if you would like to donate to this excellent cause or if you want to join us on the day!

Red Bull gives you thiiings!

March 10, 2009 by cloudstorm

…well they do if you are a top athlete!

Red Bull, with some assistance from Oakley, has just built a secret half-pipe on the backside of Silverton Mountain in Colorado for snowboarder Shaun White’s training purposes. The area can only be accessed by snowmobile or helicopter and is said to be closed off to the public. The price tag was $500,000, and it looks like it was worth every penny.

I love what Red Bull are doing here. Really creating something aspirational for boarders. Well done.

Fans of the artist Tony Hart have paid tribute to the TV presenter, who died in January, by assembling hundreds of models of his famous plasticine creation Morph.

Also, a pretty interesting fact is that Tony Hart designed the famous Blue Peter badge. Legend.

Are you Ready?

The brewery that produces James Ready couldn’t afford whole billboards, so they asked beer drinkers to share the billboards and help keep James Ready a buck. Phase one drove people to a website where they could upload any message or image. Phase two featured all the images and messages that were uploaded to give people their very own billboard.

MTV Kiss

MTV Kiss

For Carnaval. MTV Brazil is inserting Kiss masks in magazines. At this time of the year, people often wear masks and only listen to samba. But not on MTV, which goes on playing rock ‘n roll.

It would be a pretty strange sight to walk in to this office for a meeting!
