MTV Switch

MTV Switch

Switch is MTV Networks International’s Global Climate Change Campaign. To make people aware of the rising sea level because of global warming, they confronted people in an amusing way with a serious message using a floating board in the Amsterdam canals. This board seemed to be held by a submerged man with just his hands sticking out of the water.

The copy said: “Global Warming. What’s all the fuss about? Find out for yourself www.mtvswitch.org.” The floating board walked around the canals with a remote control.

I can see this very cool idea getting a lot of attention. Can’t be that expensive either which is music to a client’s ears! Can you think of any other ways this could be cleverly activated? Maybe using real people and having a floating table and chairs to highlight a new fish restaurant? What do you think?

Adidas ran this campaign to promote the new Ajax jersey. A street performance was followed by the participants swapping their Ajax jerseys with ordinary t-shirts on street!

I really like this campaign as it is so engaging for the consumer and leaves a lasting impression while at the same time gives a really cool gift to people.
